Artificial intelligence (AI)



AI is basically intelligence that is learned, displayed, carried out by machines. An "intelligent" machine perceives its environment and then takes actions that maximize its chance of success at some goal. Examples that we know include human speech recognition, turning your spoken words in to the contents of a text document or an email. Or computer chess, where the computer has a learning element, becoming almost impossible to beat.

AI is the key to truly Autonomous driving, whereby fluid changing situations and even life and death decisions will require much more than just preset algorithms.
