Volvo released its plans in September, for an Autonomous truck called Vera. This is an all electric cabinless vehicle, that is claimed will form part of a larger system and will rival the Tesla Semi. Whilst the Semi will have a range of up to 500 miles, the Volvo Vera concept will focus on trips between ports, factories and logistic hubs, offering repetition, precision and flexibility.
Cloud services will monitor the vehicles and control the round the clock logistics flow, which will be noiseless and with low co2 emissions. Volvo also state that certain future feature developments of Vera, will be in partnership with their key selected customers.
