The CUbE - Continental Self-Driving Autonomous Vehicle technology takes to the streets

This is an anacronym for Continental Urban mobility Experience and is currently undergoing test in the Frankfurt facility. The main activity is research in to driverless passenger transportation, using robo-taxis. Continental have built a small working city infrastructure, including various roads, signs, all the usual traffic signals, plus pedestrian crossings, emulating a complex but realistic route. The company claim that most of the modules and technology that is used in the CUbE autonomous vehicle is already installed in many of todays production cars. The additional technology is mainly in the form of Laser sensors and Lidar technology.
